West of the Trail

The area to the west of US 41 (Tamiami Trail) is known as the "West of the Trail." This area, just south of downtown Sarasota, is highly sought after due to its location close to many of the area's top amenities. West of the Trail real estate is in great demand with prices sometimes reaching the multi-million dollar range for homes situated on the waterfront. This area is comprised of some of the city’s most historic neighborhoods such as Harbor Acres, McClellan Park, Laurel Park, and Cherokee Park. These neighborhoods all enjoy easy access to the downtown area as well as to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, making it a great location for medical providers and staff. With its mature landscaping and wide sidewalks, these neighborhoods enjoy an “Old Florida” vibe. Most destinations including beaches, shopping, Selby Gardens, the Ringling Museum, art galleries, and theatre, are just minutes from a West of the Trail home.
